I am reposting to this list the message below, which I initially posted to
macosx-talk a few minutes ago. The reason I'm posting it here is that the
problem occurred while I was scripting the Finder. On the other list, I was
told that SIOUX is "Simple Input Output User Interface" and is part of Code
Warrior. I don't use Code Warrior. Has anybody seen this before?
Can anybody tell me what this is all about? --
I have an empty Finder window on my screen named "Finder.out". I cannot
activate it by clicking in it or its title bar. I can activate it by
choosing it in Finder's Window menu. But even then I can't move it by
dragging its title bar, and I can't drag and drop Finder items into it. Only
its minimize button is enabled, and I can minimize it to the Dock and
maximize it back. Its close button and Finder's Close Window menu item are
disabled, and Command-W doesn't close it, either.
The menu bar at the top of the screen has three new menus to the right of
the usual Finder menus. They are named "Finder," "File," and "Edit." I can
open all of them. The first item in the second "Finder" menu is "About
SIOUX," but choosing it doesn't open an about box.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.2.1. I've just been doing a lot of AppleScript work,
scripting the Finder. I've heard of SIOUX, but I can't remember what it is,
and I haven't installed it as far as I know -- unless it's part of the
system or something else that I have installed.
I guess I'll have to log out or restart or something to get back to normal.
