Probably so, for Mac users who are likely to use non-ASCII characters for
naming things. That universe doesn't include me except when I'm playing.
In one of my IMAP accounts, I do have the mail folder name, as seen by Unix
.Odd&ANEA4Q-m&AOk-ForMail
which is how IMAP (or at least Courier IMAP...I think it's in the IMAP RFC)
encodes folder
OddNameForMail
where the N is N-tilda, the a in Name is a-grave, and the e in Name is
e-grave. I was playing. ;-)

All the IMAP clients I've tried in this account are perfectly content (I
used Entourage to make the folder, I think).
