Don;

I found that the Mac OS (8/9) synchronization software had a number of bugs in it, and several times resulted in a significant loss of files.

I'm now using Synchronize Pro (http://www.qdea.com), which works better, and has versions for both OS9 and OSX.

Note that you have to pay some attention to setting up all the options, as not all the defaults (e.g. with the handling of aliases) are suitable. You can synchronize between OS9 and OSX systems, but long file names won't necessarily look pretty on the OS9 system.
