No, I know about this problem and have been saving scripts intended for the
the Microsoft Entourage script menu using the lower-case "compiled script"
option on the pull-down menu.
As an aside, I learned of this needed workaround only because of the helpful
tips page at:
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/help/current.html
It sure seems like something that should be posted prominently in the
Entourage section of Microsoft's MacTopia site.

Exactly. And within the Script Editor I've put other applications on the
"tell" line such as BBEdit or Microsoft Entourage and they all result in the
same error and unexpected quit of the application. It has me stumped.
