Thanks. I read this, and learned something from it that I otherwise wouldn't have come upon.

All non-boolean properties of File System objects, unfortunately, are read-only. I was hoping (kinda, sorta) that this might mean a way to manipulate files and their properties without getting the dreaded beachball Finder Progress Indicator every time, but...I guess we're not quite there yet.
