I haven't tried in in Classic yet, but can at least confirm that trying
this in OSX10.2.1 resulted in 4 identical sounds for me as well. This
might help to point the problem to the kitty versus the system itself,
unless mine is identically misconfigured. ;-)

Seems to work fine for me under Mac OS X 10.1.5. All 4 sound
different. So it
might be a Jaguar issue, or an issue with your system.
