Thats possibly a first step in the right direction. Havent tried it but
will do tonight. i dont know the abilities of apple script to
manipulate strings (in this case change the string "myPath"), but ill
try to figure it out !

I can't envisage exactly what you're trying to do but create a script:
set myPath to path to me as string
display dialog (myPath)
and save it to your desktop as an application. Now run it. Does this
help?
You need to be aware that this will return the path to Script Editor
if you run it from within Script Editor.
