Hello all,
I have a quandary which I suspect is tailor-made for Applescript.
I have a folder of 1700 images that are each identically-sized. The
difference file-to-file is the rastered type in each (each image is 10.5
inches by .685 inches). printing these images in Landscape would allow for
perhaps four or five documents per 8.5x11 sheet of paper. The rastered type
is IPTC Captioning info.
What I would like to do is run a script that collects these files (all
resident in one folder at the moment) and places four (or five, space
permitting) in a new document (with saving: JPEG) *and* places each files'
filename above it in the new document.
This will present me with a document in Landscape that has four sets of
"textual" data with the original filename above each set of "textual" data.
I can then match the "textual" data by filename after the fact to the photo
they originally came from (that have no IPTC, just the rastered type I've
mentioned).
BACKGROUND:
Some poor person here will then have to "hand bomb" the rastered type back
into the photos' IPTC fields. These images come from a circa 1992 4D image
database where the IPTC record was stored separately and was subsequently
corrupted for these 1700 files. I have only the rastered caption in a
attached area to the actual image now. I ran a script that cut out and
resaved just the rastered type with the same filename, so I have those now.
Any ideas/help will be most welcome.
Thank you.
Timothy
