I wish I knew. This has been screwed since at least OS X 10.0.4. And you
can't get 'content space of desktop' either. You can't even open a new
Finder window, set its 'zoomed full size' property to true, and extrapolate
from the bounds of the result. Pah! Why does the OS X Finder's dictionary
still contain all this stuff that doesn't work? (Apart from the obvious
reasons.
