Curtis,

I can't speak for other operating systems or versions of Stuffit, but the OSX versions of Stuffit Deluxe 6.0.1 and Expander 6.0.1 do have AppleScript dictionaries. I think Stuffit's components are Carbon applications, so I'd expect the OS9 versions of these apps to offer similar options where AppleScript is concerned. Deluxe's dictionary is much more extensive than is Expander's, the latter only offering one AppleScript command: "Expand". DropStuff does not appear to be scriptable, at least under my OS/setup.

To find out whether or not apps are AppleScript-able, select the Open Dictionary menu item from the File menu in Script Editor. Depending on which Mac OS you're running, you should get a list of all AppleScript-aware apps on your computer.

Hope this helps.

pkzip and stuffit don't seem to be scriptable - or are they?

if not is there something else that is?
