Hello, all. I'm sure this as been discussed, but I could only find old and
fragmentary posst on it in the archives. Essentially, is there any way to
copy icons in OS X via AppleScript?
I have a very large and complex desktop picture collection organized in
folders by topic. I'd like to use AppleScript to open the first picture of
each folder in GraphicConverter, save it to the desktop with an icon, and
then copy the icon to the folder. Everything works except that last step.
I used to be able to do this in OS 9, and have gone so far as to try to hack
the OS 9 Finder to run as an application, just for this purpose (I get as
far as mounting disks, and it crashes - but I can rebuild the desktop all
day if I want to :). So far no luck.
If the OS X Finder can't handle it, does anyone know any workarounds?
