Are you sure it's all the colons, as opposed to just the first one?

...are missing from my alias names

Ie., alias "labview:rabbit response.vi"
--> alias "labviewrabbit response.vi"

Any clues?

This happens now (since maybe AS 1.6) OMM when the volume is not found - the colon after its name disappears. Maybe it's not mounted when you open the script?
