AppleScript Guide Books

I'm having trouble installing AppleScript Guide Books on Mac OS 9.2. The
installer scripts from Apple have bugs that prevent them from finding the
Help Viewer and when I fixed those bugs they crashed the mac.

Does anyone know if they can work 9.2?

Is there a simple workaround?
