10.x References?

Howdy, all - I'm new here.

I'm having a dickens of a time tracking down the OS-X-SPECIFIC stuff that isn't in the older books (I have several, like Danny Goodman's). Apple's site on the topic of OS 10.0x's new Applescript features seems to have been yanked after Jaguar came out, and now their site ONLY touts 10.2 changes, as far as I can tell - There's a big gap in my references, and believe me, I've looked.

This is all happening because I am attempting to build an automated setup script for setting up new computers with standardized settings files. I'm flummoxed when I try to get the path to the user's Home Folder, and then drill downward until I can install the settings in the Library/Preferences sub-folders. How do I establish the current user's Home Folder as a variable using Applescript?

Thanks in advance!
