"double tell" you mean? I guess so, but that method was never 100%. I don't bother with all that any more, since either OneClick (in 7.6 +) or Smile in 9/10 allow you to get the raw codes and use them -- though Smile does have some problems with it on occasion.

But the problem was mainly with apps like Eudora when they called it all different names. Nearly all developers have now come to their senses and call all versions the same name, including Eudora. BBEdit is a notable exception.
