I don't trust the result thing and as a result I almost never use it in
other than run-once-and-toss sorts of things...and usually not there either.

In Hypercard, one often HAD to use it (to capture the result of an XCMD
which perhaps should have been called an XFCN (or whatever the spelling
was/is for that)). (I stopped messing with Hypercard when Apple stopped
supporting it. Sadly.)
