I'm working on setting up a process to image some computer labs and came up with the idea of using Applescript to completely automate the process by getting the MAC address of the computer, mounting an AppleShare volume (read-only) and reading info from a text file to get the station login name and asset tag number along with which image should be used. The problem is I'm getting an "end of file" message as soon as I try to read anything out of the file. There's no way it could be at the end of the file since it's several hundred characters long and I've only read the first dozen or so. Any ideas what could be causing this? I don't have the code handy but could provide it if it would help when I go to work tomorrow. (BTW, I'm on Mac OS 9.2.2)
Thanks,
Tom
