We're spiritual beings having a human experience.
Spiritual, OK.
Another way to have said the same thing, Michelle, might have been "I agree
with you completely. Malcolm". No? Why did you think this was directed at
you if you're not one of those who dislikes formatted text? I don't see what
there is to get upset about if you agree with Malcolm. There certainly do
seem to be a lot of people here who say they prefer plain text, they trash
any email that's formatted, etc.
Myself, I prefer formatted text, too, especially when someone has gone to
the trouble to be consistent in organizing it. I like it for scripts, too,
and for email sometimes. I'm on one mailing list where everyone by
definition can read HTML. We can send compiled scripts with no problems
about hard wrapped line endings, non-ASCII characters, indents, or anything
at all. Sometimes we paste plain text first, then switch to HTML, to avoid
colors.
Unfortunately, something like that for email does require a standard system
for all email readers and servers, which doesn't exist yet. But on my own
computer, in text editors, spreadsheets, whatever, yes - I too prefer
formatted text. I don't see why that should make me angry with Malcolm,
however, who feels the same way but was evidently despairing of receiving
any support here since the opposite side has been much more vocal. You have
an odd way of showing support. With friends like you, etc....
Anyway, Malcolm, I'm with you here.
