As a project builder app you can incorporate non-applescript code. Theoretically, you should be able to use DOM from Java (or create a parser using CFTree in Cocoa Objective-C. I did the later, hooked it into applescript, and it seems to work OK).

Isn't there a way to use DOM in AppleScript? I guess its not possible but if anyone know how it can be done I would be very happy to hear about it.
