Dumb question: why no use "set theDate to current date"?
Because I'm not actually using the current date. I'm using the Unix 'date'
command with the -r switch and a string version of the number of seconds
since 1 Jan 1970.
I find that if I provide all the details, no one ever reads my posts or
answers my questions here (see two from last week). So I cut them down to
their essentials - then I get questions like this.
