Thanks for investigating that little iTunes bug. Setting position might be a good workaround.

It illustrates the difficulty of trying to use AppleScript with "tell" blocks where the application name is a variable ... too many applications have little quirks. I've already noted that Explorer, Acrobat and FrameMaker have various bugs trying to get/set "bounds of frontmost window".
