but when I do "show all headers of message 0 to true" and "reply message 0"
this too gets put into a format=flowed form.
No it doesn't. It gets put into html form like the original. That
is something completely different. If you select all and type
command+option+T, you will find the plain text version you end up
with does not have the vertical bars.
Could I also say at this point that I don't like format=flowed?
At this point you don't seem to understand what it is.
