Switching a script from OS 9 to OS X...
The script saves a QuarkXPress picture preview as a jpeg:
The script gets the contents of a QuarkXPress picture box... a pict image.
It then creates a file.
Then it uses Akua Sweets to save the image as a pict resource into the file.
Next it opens the file in Graphic Converter.
Finally, it saves the image as a jpeg.
I've never found a way to make a new image in Graphic Converter, so I use this round-about way to accomplish the task of getting the image into GC. But we don't have Akua Sweets in OS X, and I don't know how else to save the image in a form that GC can read -- writing the QXP image directly into a file doesn't work for QC or Photoshop, although Preview will read it... but Preview isn't scriptable.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can make this work?
