Hi Meredith,

I use Keyboard Maestro for this purpose in OS X. It is inexpensive (and if you can live with the pre-registration 20-key limit, you do not even need to register) and very flexible in terms of creating hot keys to run scripts, launch apps, open documents or even perform a sequence of actions. Give it a try.

Subject: Run scripts from the keyboard?

Hi, folks --

I'm new to the list, and I've written some very simple scripts, e.g.
just to launch/activate an app like Word. What I'm hoping to find is a
way to link the scripts to key commands, so that I can launch the
scripts from the keyboard. I have MacroKey application, but it's too
limited in what key commands it supports. I used to use KeyQuencer to
do all of this, but it's not supported in OS X. QuickKeys is too
expensive. Any suggestions?

T.i.a.
