Why don't you 'print' to a PDF file?
The Safari Dictionary does not state if you can print 'as PDF', but the
Save command does have a 'type' that you might be able to set to PDF.
Else, GUI Scripting should be able to do this.
The PDF saved by Safari 'printing' is complete as shown in the print
moment, with text as text, and pictures as pictures.. if you know what
I mean. That should make it possible for Finder to index the text in
the PDF files saved by Safari.
If you just save the HTML, you will not have all the elements, and
might end up with something you can't read...
