Hello,

Anyone tried this shell command of Mac OS X 10.2.5?

It runs without launching Apple System Profiler, takes about 20 seconds to
generate the report.

Just want to know is it possible that the command cease to generate other
parts when we grep what we want, and return the result at once?

eg:

do shell script "system_profiler | grep 'System version'"
-- " System version: Mac OS X 10.2.5 (6L29)"

It9s the sixth lines, however, system_profiler takes the same time as making
a whole report.

Any idea?

TIA
bill
