I have Finder preferences set to always show extensions (and to split infinitives).
I have a script saved as a compiled application with no extension.
I have the same script saved as an APPL in the same folder with the same name except an extension *.app has been appended.
The finder window in OS 10.2.5 shows both items with identical names and no extensions. The only way I can tell the difference is by examining the icons with a magnifying glass - or at least my reading glasses.
Is this normal? Is it an AppleScript phenomenon or is it more general? I think I have seen two "Finder" items in the /system/Library/ folder while trying to open the Finder dictionary.
