I'm getting this with SE2 intermittently when trying to save any kind
of script - not just apps. Usually after it's already been acting up.
A quit & re-launch has always fixed it for me so far. Something tells
me it's not the same problem as the original poster, but that's just a
hunch.
I can also confirm the won't-open-some-files (actually
long-time-coming) bug that's been mentioned here before:
No file I have with a library declaration (mine are all declared as
parent) will open 'normally' OMM. If I double-click it, use the 'Open
Recent' menu, or drag it to the Dork, SE2 becomes unresponsive (but
doesn't use a lot of CPU). The file opens after anywhere from 1 to 3
minutes on a G4/400 AGP. It happens consistently and with new or old
files.
If I open it using SE2's 'Open...' command, the file invariably opens
more or less straight away.
Since I started using BBEdit, I also have a problem with its files:
Some of them take a similarly long time to open, then appear uncompiled
with all the BBEdit terms raw. Attempts to compile make SE2
unresponsive again for another minute or so, then it errors saying it
couldn't get the app's dictionary. This happens when BBEdit (V7.0.3)
is running.
Checking it through a bit further now, it seems that BBEdit scripts
that came with the package are OK but that the ones I've written - all
with SE2 - exhibit the long-time-coming problem, though once one has
gotten the dictionary, they all at least open comiled. Today it is
totally repeatable, I haven't been taking too much notice on other
days. Same workaround - using the 'Open...' command.
Cheers,
Ray Dar-Love
