on this page

it says copyright 1998-2001. How is that not old in the world of
computer software?
is this the right place to get the most recent version?
as far as the javascript being a better language I definitely agree.
I was just wondering how much of the functionality of applescript was
accessible via javascript. I was kind of hoping someone would just
say something like:
probably 80% or so. you can't call shell scripts or do blah blah blah.
alas, it doesn't seem like that's in the cards, so I'll check it out
myself. Thanks for the help -

I'm just getting started with AS and I'm wondering if there's a way
for me to use shorter syntax that comes more naturally for me - more
used to javascript, java, actionscript etc. I noticed the
Javascript OSA stuff seems pretty old.
That's nonsense.
Is this usable for scripting
the UI in OS X?
Not sure what "scripting the UI" means. JavascriptOSA does exactly the
same thing AppleScript does - it lets you code and send Apple events to
applications. What you do after that is up to you.
are you better off just learning the AS syntax?
Am *I* better off? No. I'm better off using a language I think is a good
language, like JavaScript! :) m.
