Matt,

First, thank you for the level of detail in your explanation. I think I get what you are saying, but it doesn't really address my issue, namely: how can you SET a property in a loaded script such that it sticks? I understand that the new SE beta doesn't allow for property persistence, but in my case this is an applet so the editor can't be a factor in the equation.
