Safari: auto enter password etc

I subscribe to a daily newspaper which has a hard-to-remember password. The password setup is cookie based and the source for the page which asks for the password is unobtainable (greyed out). Netscape was able to remember the password but Safari does not.

I have put the ID and password in Web Confidential, but that is a fiddly thing to access and the password won't paste into the field on the website. Fort Knox springs to mind...

Would an AppleScript be able to fill in my userID and password rather than having to type them every time I want to read this newspaper?

Many thanks

Oz

(Incidentally, except for this one thing, Safari in beta is far superior to fully-developed Netscape for browsing and surfing the Web and led me to finally start using OSX at least for my web Mac.)
