I've written a script that speaks today's events (but not the week's to
dos) for Palm Desktop 4.0. It's available on my iDisk:

Read the comments in the script about Palm Desktop 4.0 scripting
problems I had to work around. Also, note that Palm Desktop 4.0 seems
to unexpectedly quit sometimes after using this script.
This was adapted from a test script I wrote for the in-development
version of Palm Desktop (which, if you haven't heard me say this
before, I cannot promise whether or when it will ship). The test script
is cleaner and more straightforward, as I completely rewrote the
scripting support in Palm Desktop so kludgey workarounds are no longer
necessary. (It also doesn't crash after running the script.)
By the way, if good scripting support is important to you, let Palm
know:
