Anyway, should there be a project to revive HC (the true one, that from
Atkinson/Apple), I would be happy to contribute, even for an
infinitesimal part
I never used HC, although I'm aware of its legendary status. I have,
however, been dabbling with an authoring package called Revolution, which
appears to claim direct lineage from HC. Does anyone familiar with both have
any insights into how the two compare with regard to features and usability?

I've used Revolution for a while. There are a lot of fundamental similarities with HC. In some ways more capabilities means the interface is more complicated than HC, but after three of four sessions exploring, then building some standalone's. XML/SOAP back end is straight forward. IDE is what took the time to get used to only because HC's were so deeply rooted.

I like it.
