Try to be a parent instead, learn your kids to make sane judgments.
Of course, if they're very young, you might wanna filter some adult content, but do they REALLY get in contact with that on the sites they surf?

I know - there's a lot of reasons for filtering, monitoring etc, and it can be useful, but also remember that you are a parent, they have their own life, and you're 'only' a guide. Talk with them instead, find out how their interests evolve,and guide them to a great life. Give them love...
