In Panther, I suppose. In 10.2.6, using my default shell, I get:
echo $SHELL
/bin/tcsh
Yes, but that's not the point. Doug was referring to "do shell
script", which always uses sh(1) and pays no attention to your SHELL

[1] At least I think he was. The "no longer" is confusing, since "do
shell script" has *never* used (t)csh. It's like the Mad Hatter asking
Alice if she'd like some more tea.
