Then there must be something peculiar about the cell in question.

It is just a plain text field.

My original script worked fine on my machine when the field in question was a regular text field.

I am using FMP 3.0v5, in Classic mode under Mac OS X 10.2.6. Are you also doing so? I haven't tried booting into OS 9.

And just to clarify, you are actually using the Scriptmaker in FMP to make a script to "Perform AppleScript", and pasting the script into there?

If you are, I'm stumped! :(
