Hmmm.

I was sure the Finder used to have a visible property on files and folders. Don't see one now.

System events does have one, but it's read-only.

Best I can find is that Extra Suites, available at www.kanzu.com, has a "set visibility of" verb.

David (still scratching his head)

File Buddy offers the ability to create droplets. I think the procedure is to go through the steps on one file and then choose Save from the File menu.

I'm not too familiar with file buddy, but there must be something about these files, I see the 'save as droplet' option but it's greyed out. The only way I have been able to revert these files to a normal state is to close with the box with the red x, and then choose save on the dialog box that appears. Unfortunately it seems like I won't be able to use that method.

Although I do see what you're talking about. Thanks for the idea. (or if you know what it is about file buddy that causes that to be greyed out that would be helpful too -- although I'm more interested in writing a script than learning more about file buddy. :o)

Thanks,
Brandon
