Figured it also might intelligently cache things like that - but I guess
not... :)

P.S. Style-wise, I tend to stay away from i's (or any other single-variable
name ('specially i's, l's, I's, j's 1's etc.). More difficult (for me) to
see the logic at-a-glance ('specially when flow starts getting really nested
('cause of a lack of goto's and returns in the middle of functions. ;))
