Graff,
It is easy to disagree over the smallest thing. See, I think that there can
be no distinction between the personal, the public and the political. But
that's really neither here nor there.
I also happen to believe that "being offended" can be a very significant
part of the learning process. And that might mean scripting, but it also
means learning to be a participant in a group.
We have to learn each other a bit. I've had my share of times when I've
thought someone's reply was heated or personal or a bit "flamey", but it is
equally true that from some of those exchanges I have learned to be a better
participant on this list.
But it's all good. Of course it's okay to be offended briefly by someone
else's politics.
I think it's kind of fun...like bumper stickers. I may not want all the
ones I see on my bumper, but there are some really thought provoking ones
out there on the road.
