Thanks, Michael. I appreciate not having to rewrite 40 scripts to
accommodate this user. (There are subsequent parts of the script where the
Finder is essential, not optional - I need to be able to rename this same
file and give it a file type.)
I'll suggest he do a reinstall of OS 10.3. I can't think of anything else
that would fix his faulty Finder, unless anyone has another idea to try?
