It's a bit sad, isn't it, that the new holy grail is a task so
trivial that you could record in the Finder of old.

I don't even know where to find the preference info about what's
displayed where on the desktop (although perhaps someone reading
this knows...?)
I took a few minutes to look for this today and couldn't find it.
The contents of the users desktop folder have to be mirrored on the
"desktop" proper, but I couldn't find anything that looked like
prefs for doing that. You'd think they'd have put that back in
working order. :-(
When OS X came out, Steve Jobs busted developers' chops for not
porting their software to the new system.
After 4 years, it is still impossible for me to port Drive Icon Reposition.
When, oh when, will the OS X Finder become as scriptable as System 7 was?
