Porting my scripts to OS X

  • Subject: Porting my scripts to OS X

Hi all,

I have a bunch of Finder, QuarkXPress and InDesign scripts running in OS 9 that need to be updated for the new Jaguar-running iMacs and Panther-running G5s we've got now. I'm pretty new to OS X so I'd really appreciate any tips about converting scripts -- common 'gotchas' and so forth. A major client is (supposedly) converting 100% to QuarkXPress 6 as of the 1st of the year.

I'm just starting to get the hang of Smile; I'm used to Scripter. They are both very cool, but very different!

Also, do Finder scripts that work in Jaguar tend to work in Panther and vice versa?

TIA,
--
