Running script on sleep/wake / VPN reconnect

  • Subject: Running script on sleep/wake / VPN reconnect

Hi,

I know, this has probably been asked before, but Apple's search facility is rather horrid, as is the fact that it doesn't store honkin' big plain mbox files so one can just download your own copy of the complete archives instead of spidering the whole directory, then splicing it with Perl..

Is is possible (in Panther) to run a script on sleep and wake, or set up a sleep/wake routine programmatically from a background app to do this? I want to write a script to automatically try to reconnect the VPN when I wake the computer to whatever server it was connected to before. (or is there a setting in VPNClient that I can set to prevent it from destroying the link layer on sleep - or does a VPN connection need constant "refreshment" to stay "current" [with a session key, timeout, etc])

Thanks,
Jim Witte
