Hi Paul and all,
Where would be good starting points (preferably, websites or easy
downloads that could be printed out) on AppleScripting? My experience so
far has mostly been recording and VERY minor mods to existing scripts.
Due to current financials, I would prefer websites with printable info.
Also, on my current Mac I have had problems with some pdf files taking up
too much drive space to print spool (pdfs), so if there are docs/webpages
on AScripting which aren't pdf, I'd lean toward that.
FWIW, I'm running MacOS 9.2.2 and the version of Script Editor is 1.8.3
(if that tells you which version of AS I'm using).
And, after noting some of the later discussion on that above thread, I
made it about halfway through a Comp.Sci. program - PL/I, Pascal, C, and
(after attempting that bloatware language COBOL) switched out of that
program. I preferred Pascal and languages where you could write the code
closer to self-documenting with longer/readable variable names, etc. But
I'm probably rusty on all of them at this point.
TIA for any suggestions and directions on where to go start,
Jim Rohde
