It wasn't MS Word (whose scriptability in current versions is highly wonky,
with lots of crashes, etc.) that I specified. It was MS Entourage. You
shouldn't be at all surprised: Entourage is a Mac-only application built by
Mac developers. It's a superset of MS Outlook Express Mac, a Mac-only app
(no porting from OE Windows), made by the developers who created [Claris and
before] Emailer - including its AppleScripting. Entourage has one of the
better implementations of AppleScript out there, along with others such as
Tex-Edit Plus and Smile mentioned in this same thread.
