I'm confused here. I've updated to OS X 10.3.2 but when I launch the Script
Editor it still reads version 1.9

Any idea why the update didn't install this new Script Editor version?

Probably need to install the Xcode Tools, which replaced the Developer
Tools. I believe it's in that package.

According to the release notes, it's part of the OS X 10.3.2 upgrade. Applescript is not part of Xcode Tools, although AppleScript Studio is.
