There are a number of file plugins. Troi file is the best known. The
two advantages of using the pretty inexpensive troi plugin.
1. Cross platform.
2. Do LOTS of other stuff, most things you could do with AS but they
run Fast and are easy to do using the troi file plugin.
So it depends if you are using AS because you can't do it natively in
FileMaker and don't know about the plugins or if you don't want to
spend the money (and your development time is either free or not
accounted for) or you are doing a very large project, where you are
avoiding a site license.
