Is there anyone who knows how to find a workaround on this issue (I

Hello Luca,
I can confirm your findings. It looks like XPress is seeing a
second line after the first one of style sheet range 1.
A workaround? What about this one (since there are only 2 lines)?
---
set countChars to {}
tell document 1 of application "QuarkXPress 5.01"
tell current box
tell story 1
repeat with i from 1 to count of text style ranges
tell text style range i
set end of countChars to (count of characters)
end tell
end repeat
end tell
end tell
end tell
countChars

It addresses the text style ranges but not their lines.
