Hi BA
The only time I've seen something like this was when I tried to
backgrade from OS9 to 8.5 and I ended up with a version of Script Editor
which required a different version of CarbonLib to the one which was
installed.
Here I've got OS 9.2.2 installed with CarbonLib v1.6, Script editor is
version 1.8.3. I guess it could also have a version of AppleScript or
another extension which isn't the right version. Without looking at all
the versions of everyfile to see what matches what you can try a couple
of things... Hopefully you have some disk space.
Save a copy of your System folder, just in case things go horribly
wrong. Copying it on the same disk should normally do the trick.
Install a virgin copy of OS 9. If you click on the Options button, you
should have the choice of installing over your existing system or in a
fresh folder.
If that works then, you can try reinstalling over the top of your old
System Folder. If it doesn't work then I'm afraid I don't know what
gives.
You may want to wait and see if you get some better advice from someone
older and wiser than myself before you go down that route, but that's
probably what I would be doing!
Cheers
Caerwyn

Subject: Basic one
When I launch Script Editor (under MacOS 9), I have an error message
telling that it is impossible to launch it, and that it could be
corrupted.
I have trashed the prefs and replaced Script Editor by a new one,
without success.
Thanks in advance to help me.
