That's my take on it too, Nigel. Since all menu items are disabled while a
ScriptMaker script is running, you can't use the Do Menu event to select
menu items when running your script using the 'Perform AppleScript'
ScriptMaker step.

...which I've opened using the FMP 'Send Apple Event / open application'
command. (Works best when the Apple Event is sent at the end of the FMP
script).
